Hand-painted thangka on linen
Made in Nepal.
The thangkas differ greatly in price. The cheapest thangkas have been painted by students from thangka schools. The better the artist is in the use of brush and paint, the higher the quality of the thangka. This can clearly be recognized by the refinement of the technique, the color transitions and the depth effect. The most expensive ones were made by monks who, through their dedication to Buddhism and their years of experience in painting thangkas, create true spiritual works of art. The more expensive thangkas are examples of this. The precision, the symmetry and the depth effect are of such a quality that you can speak of masterpieces.
